A Little Bit of History
Motoreco Rebuild Company was started in the 50’s by Guy Duportail, with the Belgian army as its sole customer. Hugo Van Osselaer, father of current manager Tom, worked there for 30 years. Motoreco went Bankrupt in 1998, in the wake of army cutbacks. Hugo Van Osselaer, together with a partner, managed to get the business up and running again under the name New Motoreco.
Seven years later, New Motoreco moved to a new, fully-equipped, modern building. Today Tom is the manager and he has given the business a new lease of life. Shipping companies, industrial businesses, inland waterways transport and both dealers and owners of vintage cars all bring their various makes of engine to New Motoreco for rebuilding work.
